Christine Lawton.
Attorney, IP strategist, dealmaker, and board advisor. Thirty years leading and learning as a practicing attorney in the rooms where the deals get done, and the work that happens between the lines and between the people.

Most people think the best deals are about an iron-clad contract. The best deals I've worked on always came down to the best relationships.
The contract was never the hard part. The hard part was figuring out what each side needed to be able to say yes, and underneath all of it, the thing nobody was saying out loud yet.
That's the work I've done my whole career. Not arguing harder for one side, not burying the room in paper, but understanding what people mean, what they can't find the words for, what matters, and structuring the deal around it.
I'm who you bring in when the deal matters too much to lose, when the relationship matters too much to break, and when the real work is between the lines and between the people.

A dancer, an attorney, a first-generation American.
My parents arrived in the U.S. with nothing and no one. No champions. No benefactors. But they had education and beautiful minds, the will to learn and to work, and a clear-eyed belief in themselves and each other. Lovers of books, theater, music, dance and art, I was nevertheless "guided" away from the starving-artist path, and began to enjoy exercising my creativity through problem solving. Law turned out to be the perfect canvas for creating inside a creative industry.
It's a little like directing. Pulling everything together to tell the story, structuring it so the people who made something together can prosper from it.
Three decades, across the table from the biggest names in media and tech.
